Kojako // MFW Costume Competition
“Kojako” - “Little snake (小蛇子),” meaning a girl who was born in the Year of the Snake (implying a mysterious, refined, and seductive nature), or “little wicked one (小邪子) (1920s origin).” A merging of living art forms of Geisha and Vaudeville inspired by the films Memoirs of Geisha and Chicago with Art Deco and traditional Japanese themes. Costume & headdress designed and created for the 2017 Metropolitan Fashion Week Costume Competition.
